The Nerman

The Nerman Museum is a Contemporary Art Museum at Johnson County Community College.
Jerry and Margaret Nerman decided to fund $1.5 million into the art museum in 2003.
They designed the building out of Kansas limestone and the architect was Kyu Sung. Artist Dylan Mortimer made three large motion censored halos at the museum that he takes a lot of pride in. Mortimer grew up in a christian school and attended the Kansas City Art Institute.

I can Kern!!

What is Kerning? You might ask. Kerning is adjusting the space between (letters or characters) in a piece of text to be printed. The word kern is from the french word carne, which means 'projecting angle, quill of a pen". In metal typesetting, kerning was a lot of work and a lot of money!

eMagine

eMagine is a time where everyone in the e-Communication program comes together and shows what they've put all their hard work into. You can submit your projects in a chance to compete against teens from all over the state and win a shiny little award. Although all parts of e-Comm are great, I prefer the Graphic Design portion because you really have a chance to express your creativity.

I portrayed the kittens from the movie The Aristocats for my poster. I compared it to the One, Two, Three poster by Saul Bass. My reason for this is they both have three main objects in the center and they both use the rule of thirds. The main color of each of the posters is a shade of red and they both use black and white. Also, my poster and Saul Bass's both share an abstract, simple look.

Google Logo

Google Logo
The font they used is Catull. "We ended up with the primary colors, but instead of having the pattern go in order, we put a secondary color on the L, which brought back the idea that Google doesn't follow the rules." Ruth Kedar developed the final logo. Google changes it's logo whenever there is a holiday or occasion. White versions of the Google logo are used during times of great tragedy.
