Infographics

My first infographic was typography based. I used a pink gradient background behind each group of text. My title was in a curly font much like a piggy tail and the O's represented a pig snout. I incorporated one vectored image of a pig to lighten the infographic up.

My second info graphic was image based. I used a black background so the images and text would pop out more. I also vectored images of pigs to display the basic things you need to know in order to take care of a pet pig.

VML Field Trip

Mrs. Lofquist's 6th/7th hour class had the opportunity to ask questions and talk one-on-one with the Executive Creative Art Director, Aaron Evanson, at a global ad agency. It was a very eyeopening experience on what our areers may look like in the future if we stay in the Graphic Design field. I thought you would have a little bit of freedom on how you do things and it would be kind of fun! Before going to VML, we all prepared quite a few questions to ask Aaron. Many of my questions were answered.

Notes:

Quarter One Presentation

In quarter one, I did various small-medium projects. For the first few weeks of school, we focused on cubes in Adobe Illustrator. Afterward, I didn't have a big project to focus on, so I made my own (The James Franco face). I found a vectoring tutorial, chose a photo, and started vectoring little four sided shapes to make one photo. I used the same color scheme as my cube projects.

For my second project, we started with the apple mesh project. We used the eye dropper tool and the direct select tool a lot. After we did the apple photo, we got to choose a photo of our own. I chose a crescent moon and Saturn.

For my final and largest project, I did a tutorial on photoshop and Illustrator similar to the image trace tutorial. We basically traced over each little segment of the photo and then used the eyedropper tool to color the exact segment. It really came together in the end.
